Friday 3rd September

Dear Y1 Parents & Carers,

Many thanks for your support, over the last couple of days, as the children settled into their new classrooms and routines. We are so proud of them! They have certainly enjoyed sharing their holiday news, including new additions to the family. Congratulations!

In the week ahead, we look forward to commencing our Marvellous Me topic and will focus on the number 19, during Maths sessions. Bookbags have been sent home today and we would ask that they are brought into school daily.

Home Learning books will be sent home next Friday. They will contain: the Homework Grid, for the half term, the CEW (red words) to learn this half term and logins for relevant sites.

Our PE sessions will take place each Monday and Wednesday and we thank you, in advance, for sending your child in wearing their PE kits. Children with pierced ears must remove them for PE sessions. If they are unable to do so independently, please leave them out for that school day.

As you will appreciate, the weather is quite changeable at the moment so it is improtant that the children always have a waterproof coat with them.

If there are any queries, please contact the office and they will be forwarded to Mrs. Fegan, Miss O’Neill or Mrs. Page.

Have a wonderful weekend. Stay safe and well.

The Year One Team

to learn, to succeed, to value one another

Our vision and values are at the core of everything we do. A value is a belief or principle that guides our thinking and behaviour. Our values underpin our teaching and learning, and provide an environment which prepares our pupils to be happy and confident and to to take an active role in their community and the wider world.

Each year group has adopted one of our Christian values: Kindness, Forgiveness, Courage, Thankfulness, Hope, Faithfulness and Respect. Our over-arching Christian Value is Love. Throughout the year children are helped to explore, have opportunities to practise and then given time to reflect on what each of our Christian values means to them.
