Year 1 Blog 23.2.24

Date: 23rd Feb 2024 @ 4:53pm

  Friday 23rd February

This week, the children enjoyed their investigations around length and height. They enthusiastically completed initial measuring investigations using string, straws and unifix cubes.

We took the opportunity to introduce our pirate dance unit. The children had lots of fun scrubbing the decks, hoisting the main sail and saluting the Captain! More jobs for the shipmates next Monday.

Time was spent with the Bee-bots experimenting and predicting outcomes when combining the direction  commands.

Next week, we look forward to more exciting times on the high seas!

Have a lovely weekend.

The Year One Team

to learn, to succeed, to value one another

Our vision and values are at the core of everything we do. A value is a belief or principle that guides our thinking and behaviour. Our values underpin our teaching and learning, and provide an environment which prepares our pupils to be happy and confident and to to take an active role in their community and the wider world.

Each year group has adopted one of our Christian values: Kindness, Forgiveness, Courage, Thankfulness, Hope, Faithfulness and Respect. Our over-arching Christian Value is Love. Throughout the year children are helped to explore, have opportunities to practise and then given time to reflect on what each of our Christian values means to them.
