Year 1 Blog 20.10.22

Date: 20th Oct 2022 @ 10:03pm

Thursday 20th October

Smile please! Monday, we had our photographs taken and look forward to seeing them printed. We had a beautiful day, on Tuesday for our visit to church. What a way to celebrate St. Luke’s Day.

We continued our geographical work, creating a key for our classroom aerial map. We look forward to devising a simple map of our own.

Next half term, we will spend time considering the Animal Kingdom and look forward to our trip to Knowsley Safari Park. Please look out for further information about it.

As mentioned last previously, those of you who did not purchase a RWI Set2 and Set3 pack of phonic cards, while in Reception, they are still available to buy via the school Spider. They cost £5.50 and are an updated version of the original pack. They are a wonderful resource to have when supporting the development of your child’s phonic knowledge. It is a resource we use daily in school.

Have a wonderful break and we look forward to welcoming the children back on the 31st.

If there are any queries, please contact our dedicated email.                                                                        yr1@slf.sefton.school

With thanks.

The Year One Team

to learn, to succeed, to value one another

Our vision and values are at the core of everything we do. A value is a belief or principle that guides our thinking and behaviour. Our values underpin our teaching and learning, and provide an environment which prepares our pupils to be happy and confident and to to take an active role in their community and the wider world.

Each year group has adopted one of our Christian values: Kindness, Forgiveness, Courage, Thankfulness, Hope, Faithfulness and Respect. Our over-arching Christian Value is Love. Throughout the year children are helped to explore, have opportunities to practise and then given time to reflect on what each of our Christian values means to them.
