Year 1 Blog 16th April

Date: 16th Apr 2021 @ 4:42pm

Friday 16th April

We have certainly taken advantage of the weather, this week, having fun in the sun! Spring walks have been the order of the day as well as PE sessions, stories and cooperative games. Also, sharing our current knowledge about plants and trees. We look forward to more, next week.

We are delighted to say that the Year 1 children have earned thirty Golden Tickets and their reward afternoons. These will take place, next Wednesday, for 1O and Thursday for 1P. The children are welcome to wear their own clothes and footwear that is suitable for outdoor activities. The weather looks promising and so we look forward to a well-earned afternoon of activities.

Next Monday, sees the start of the Sustrans Big Pedal Initiative which runs for two weeks. The children in 1P will place scooters and bikes against the fencing by the tree outside the classroom. For 1O, they will be placed against the fence at the bottom of Miss O

to learn, to succeed, to value one another

Our vision and values are at the core of everything we do. A value is a belief or principle that guides our thinking and behaviour. Our values underpin our teaching and learning, and provide an environment which prepares our pupils to be happy and confident and to to take an active role in their community and the wider world.

Each year group has adopted one of our Christian values: Kindness, Forgiveness, Courage, Thankfulness, Hope, Faithfulness and Respect. Our over-arching Christian Value is Love. Throughout the year children are helped to explore, have opportunities to practise and then given time to reflect on what each of our Christian values means to them.
