Friday 16th September

We are family!

What a wonderful time we had, on Thursday, during Values Day. An opportunity to celebrate our families and to reflect on our St Luke’s Christian values.  Why not take a look at the photos from the day?

Spirals and turns were the order of the day, on Monday, when we used different chalks and graphite to create our own examples. Once in PE, we explored using our whole body to turn in a variety of ways. We look forward to incorporating our ideas into unique sequences.

We concentrated on our sense of smell, this week, and enjoyed a smell quiz. In the week to come, we will focus on our sense of touch.

We had some brilliant buddy time too, sharing a selection of stories and our news from the summer.

On Wednesday 21st September, we have our Year One Welcome Meeting at 6:30pm. We look forward to seeing you there. If you are unable to make it we will send home any relevant information we hand out on the night.

If you happen to have any unwanted, oversized T-shirts we would happily make use of them for our creative sessions. Tissues are always welcome too.

We hope you have a wonderful weekend.

If there are any queries, please contact our dedicated email.                                                                        yr1@slf.sefton.school

With thanks.

The Year One Team

to learn, to succeed, to value one another

Our vision and values are at the core of everything we do. A value is a belief or principle that guides our thinking and behaviour. Our values underpin our teaching and learning, and provide an environment which prepares our pupils to be happy and confident and to to take an active role in their community and the wider world.

Each year group has adopted one of our Christian values: Kindness, Forgiveness, Courage, Thankfulness, Hope, Faithfulness and Respect. Our over-arching Christian Value is Love. Throughout the year children are helped to explore, have opportunities to practise and then given time to reflect on what each of our Christian values means to them.
