Friday 15th October

This week, the weather was with us and gave us the opportunity to go on our amazing autumn walk. The children were delighted to spend this time with their buddies discussing all the signs of autumn they could see. Do take a look at the photographs capturing our time together.

We went walkabout around school too, when mapping out our journey from the classroom to the hall. The children considered all they had previously learned about aerial photographs and maps when creating them.

Our self portraits continued and the children used their mirrors, with such care, when completing them. We also thought about our brilliant bodies and all that they can do.

Next week, we look forward to celebrating St Luke’s Day, on Monday, in church. Wear red to kick out racism is Friday and ends our fabulous first half term back. How time flies!

We hope you have a wonderful weekend.

The Year One Team

to learn, to succeed, to value one another

Our vision and values are at the core of everything we do. A value is a belief or principle that guides our thinking and behaviour. Our values underpin our teaching and learning, and provide an environment which prepares our pupils to be happy and confident and to to take an active role in their community and the wider world.

Each year group has adopted one of our Christian values: Kindness, Forgiveness, Courage, Thankfulness, Hope, Faithfulness and Respect. Our over-arching Christian Value is Love. Throughout the year children are helped to explore, have opportunities to practise and then given time to reflect on what each of our Christian values means to them.
