Y5 Weekly Blog (14. 9. 18)

Date: 15th Sep 2018 @ 8:28am

Another great week in Year 5 has come to an end. This week, the children have started to look at what Fairtrade is and how it affects farmers and their communities. They have recorded facts and dramatized a radio adverts which they shared with their buddies.

We have also started our study on the Ancient Maya people. We have looked at the countries in which they inhabited as well as some of their famous cities. We are all sure the children will be fascinated by how sophisticated these people. We also had a workshop on debating led by a representative of parliment. It was great to see how involved the children got and hopefully we will see some of them in the Houses of Parliament when they are older.

A very well done to both of our superstars this week: Holly in 5J and Freya in 5L. Keep up this great, positive attitude!

Don’t forgot to come to the “Welcome to Year 5” meetings next week, as we will be giving out important information for the year ahead, as well as talking through our new Home Learning system. We look forward to seeing you all there.

The Year 5 team.
