This week we have had answering the scientific question, "Which materials are  soluble, insoluble and which become a suspension," through experimenting in groups with a variety of materials. In our groups we worked out what we would need to answer our question,  which 1 variable we would change and which others would stay the same. We then decided how they would stay the same e.g. what temperature water, amount of water / material. Before carrying out our experiment, we predicted the outcomes and were mainly correct.

In maths we have continued learning about decimals - adding and subtracting and solving word problems. Next week we will finish this topic and move on to percentages.

In English we have continued telling the Anthony Browne story, Gorilla, in detail. We can't wait to start our independent write next week.

Our yoga sessions are helping with our core strength and wellbeing. Our handball lessons are far more active with lots of attacking and defending.

We had great fun on World Book Day dressed as our favourite characters. It started with us trying to work out, "Who's that behind the mask." All the teachers had read part of The Highway Rat, disguised as animated animals and we had to decide who was who as a class. We guessed Mrs Harper before she even started to speak! We also took part in a live lesson and had a long read of our favourite books.

All the backing tracks and lyrics are now on the website for children to practise fat home or the school play.

to learn, to succeed, to value one another

Our vision and values are at the core of everything we do. A value is a belief or principle that guides our thinking and behaviour. Our values underpin our teaching and learning, and provide an environment which prepares our pupils to be happy and confident and to to take an active role in their community and the wider world.

Each year group has adopted one of our Christian values: Kindness, Forgiveness, Courage, Thankfulness, Hope, Faithfulness and Respect. Our over-arching Christian Value is Love. Throughout the year children are helped to explore, have opportunities to practise and then given time to reflect on what each of our Christian values means to them.
