Y4 Weekly Blog (2. 11. 18)

Date: 2nd Nov 2018 @ 1:15pm

What a super start to the new term we have had! This week, we have been busy writing a recount of all the exciting things we got up to over the half term break.

In games, we have begun a half term unit learning the skills of hockey. We are lucky enough to have the expertise of Mark and Josh from Formby hockey club, who will be coaching the children alongside us. The children have also begun a half term unit learning the skills of tag rugby; they have enjoyed learning to work as a team. Both classes have been fascinated to begin their new topic based on ancient Egypt. They each used their developing atlas skills to identify where exactly it is on the world map.

We have continued studying subtraction (finding the difference) when you need to exchange for e.g. 1 ten for 10 ones, or 1 hundred for 10 tens, or 1 thousand for 10 hundreds. The children are developing a good understanding, and are identifying a method they prefer to use to work out the answers Please support your child with both this and their x tables.
