We have all had a great start to life in Year 2.  On Thursday, it was lovely to see all of the children back in school and we spent lots of time getting to know one another, and learning all about the different things that we will do Year 2.

In the afternoon, the children also had their first indoor P.E. lesson of the year, practising their gymnastic skills.

Throughout their first day, the children also went into the garden in small groups and worked to weed the raised beds which have become somewhat overgrown over the summer months!  The children really enjoyed being able to be outside, learning how to look after the Year 2 area of the garden, and they are already looking forward to being able to sow and grow their own fruits and vegetables in the months to come.

We have all really enjoyed getting to know everyone over the first few days back at St Luke's and we cannot wait to spend the next year together: having lots of fun and learning lots of new and exciting things.

We hope you enjoy your weekend and look forward to seeing you next Monday for our first full week back in school!

to learn, to succeed, to value one another

Our vision and values are at the core of everything we do. A value is a belief or principle that guides our thinking and behaviour. Our values underpin our teaching and learning, and provide an environment which prepares our pupils to be happy and confident and to to take an active role in their community and the wider world.

Each year group has adopted one of our Christian values: Kindness, Forgiveness, Courage, Thankfulness, Hope, Faithfulness and Respect. Our over-arching Christian Value is Love. Throughout the year children are helped to explore, have opportunities to practise and then given time to reflect on what each of our Christian values means to them.
