Reception Weekly Blog (Week ending Friday 18th June 2021)

Date: 18th Jun 2021 @ 3:43pm

Week ending Friday 18th June 2021

We have been watching our caterpillars grow every day. By sharing information books, we have been learning all about caterpillars, their habitat, what they like to eat, how they move and how they grow and change. It has really inspired our children to look for insects in the ROLA and the children are remembering our Reception Christian value – kindness, when observing them.

In maths we have been looking at symmetry and have painted a beautiful, colourful symmetrical butterfly, which are now displayed in the classrooms.

Please take some time to look for symmetrical patterns at home. We’d love to hear about it on a good news slip.

Enjoy looking at and talking about the photos.

to learn, to succeed, to value one another

Our vision and values are at the core of everything we do. A value is a belief or principle that guides our thinking and behaviour. Our values underpin our teaching and learning, and provide an environment which prepares our pupils to be happy and confident and to to take an active role in their community and the wider world.

Each year group has adopted one of our Christian values: Kindness, Forgiveness, Courage, Thankfulness, Hope, Faithfulness and Respect. Our over-arching Christian Value is Love. Throughout the year children are helped to explore, have opportunities to practise and then given time to reflect on what each of our Christian values means to them.
