Reception Weekly Blog (9.12.22)

What a fantastic week we have had! With Christmas fast approaching we have been learning all about The Nativity. Next week, we look forward to having the opportunity to dress up as Mary and Joseph, wise men, shepherds and angels!

In Music, we have enjoyed singing along to our favourite Christmas songs including Jingle Bells! The children all decided that sleigh bells were the best festive instrument to use to play along to the song, and all thoroughly enjoyed creating a jingle bell sound together in a rhythm. Ho, ho, ho!

On Tuesday, Reception were treated to a whole school showing of our talented Year 2 friends perform their show stopping ‘Nativity’ – well done to them!

We are SO proud of our Reception children…we have learned most of our set 1, Read Write Inc. speed sounds now. Keep practising at home for speedy recognition! Thank you.

We are looking forward to more fun and festivities next week, with Christmas Dinner on Wednesday, Christmas Takeover Day on Thursday and our Reception trip to The Brindley Theatre on Friday!
