Reception Weekly Blog (16. 11. 18)

Date: 16th Nov 2018 @ 5:23pm

This week we have been talking to the children about our fundraising for Children in Need and explaining that all children should be able to play, be safe, be happy, healthy and cared for. However, sadly this does not always happen but BBC children in Need works hard to help all children smile. A BIG thank you, to all our children, parents and carers this week, who have made our Pudsey money jar very heavy!

An amazing thing happened at the beginning of the week! A dragon egg had been left in the classroom, alongside a letter asking the children to take care of it. This inspired wonderful discussion and the children were keen to write their own letters and draw their own pictures for the dragon to look at!

We have also introduced our number 4. Talking about how it is one more than three and the different ways it can be made. We have talked about squares having four equal sides and rectangles having two short sides and two long sides. Have a look at home to see if you can find the number 4, squares and rectangles. We would love to hear about it on a good news slip.
