We can’t quite believe it is the last half term, how time flies!

It was lovely to see everyone return to school with super smiles. The children each shared their good news from the half-term break, using wonderful and well-formed sentences to talk about what is happening in their own lives.

We introduced our new topic ‘Mad about Minibeasts’ on Wednesday. The children were excited to get stuck in to exploring all of the new and interesting resources in their classrooms, extending their understanding of the world around them, and learning lots of new vocabulary along the way!

On Thursday, the children were fascinated when our 'Curiosity Cube' gained wriggly, wiggly visitors! We all had to be as quiet as we could, as inside were sleeping, cosy caterpillars. The caterpillars have all the nutritious food they need and soon the children will experience the special wonder, and excitement of the caterpillar to butterfly life cycle!

Everyone looked fabulous on Friday, dressed up in red, white and blue for a ‘royally’ superb picnic. The children worked together to lay out picnic blankets, and enjoyed their food whilst showing off their unique and ‘majestic’ crowns, fit for a Queen! We even sang The National Anthem as a whole school, and gave three cheers for Her Majesty. Hip hip hooray! A fantastic end to a fun-filled week.

As the weather gets warmer, we will be taking the opportunity for lots for playful learning and minibeast investigation in our outdoor spaces. If the forecast is sunny, please ensure your child has sun cream applied before coming to school. We will have sun hats at the ready!

Take care,

The Reception Team.

to learn, to succeed, to value one another

Our vision and values are at the core of everything we do. A value is a belief or principle that guides our thinking and behaviour. Our values underpin our teaching and learning, and provide an environment which prepares our pupils to be happy and confident and to to take an active role in their community and the wider world.

Each year group has adopted one of our Christian values: Kindness, Forgiveness, Courage, Thankfulness, Hope, Faithfulness and Respect. Our over-arching Christian Value is Love. Throughout the year children are helped to explore, have opportunities to practise and then given time to reflect on what each of our Christian values means to them.
