Don't forget: Sports Mufti on Wednesday 17th April to raise funds for No More Knife Crime, and to provide a bleed kit for every school in Sefton. Thank you for your support.

Reception week ending Friday 4th December 2020

Date: 4th Dec 2020 @ 3:59pm

Continuing with our Emperor penguin theme this week the children labelled the penguin parts. They used their Fred Fingers by pinching the sounds they could hear to sound out the word. They then wrote each sound using the Read Write Inc phrases to support the correct letter formation. Please support your child by practising correct letter formation at home too. Thank you.

During our games sessions the children have used the large balls to dribble around the ice burgs and completed a penguin obstacle course in the ROLA! On Thursday due to the rain they practised penguin yoga!

We have explored the quickest way to release the frozen penguins from the ice. The children had some amazing ideas from putting them near a radiator to putting them in hot water - AMAZING!

Number seven has been introduced, and the children have discovered that there are seven days in a week and seven colours in the rainbow. See if your child can find any number seven’s at home. We would love to hear about it on a ‘Good News’ slip.

Today we have watched the short film of Raymond Briggs ‘The Snowman’. Next week, we can’t wait to use it as a stimulus for dancing, maths and craft activities.

to learn, to succeed, to value one another

Our vision and values are at the core of everything we do. A value is a belief or principle that guides our thinking and behaviour. Our values underpin our teaching and learning, and provide an environment which prepares our pupils to be happy and confident and to to take an active role in their community and the wider world.

Each year group has adopted one of our Christian values: Kindness, Forgiveness, Courage, Thankfulness, Hope, Faithfulness and Respect. Our over-arching Christian Value is Love. Throughout the year children are helped to explore, have opportunities to practise and then given time to reflect on what each of our Christian values means to them.
