Don't forget: Wear a Hat to School day is on Thursday 28th March, our last day of term. We are requesting a voluntary £1 donation to Brain Tumour Research, a charity close to our hearts, having lost staff and parents to this cancer over the last few years. Thanks for your support!

It was lovely to hear about all the exciting things the children have been up to during the half term holiday, and the children have recorded their news to put into their learning journey.

Bonfire Night inspired us to make 2D shape firework rockets; a firework display using lots of paint and glitter; we talked about fire safety and sources of light; we took time to sit and be calm whilst watching the flame of a candle; we talked about candles in church and that Jesus is the light of the world; we have used the musical instruments to make firework inspired sounds as well as dancing with ribbons pretending to be fireworks in the sky.

The role-play fire station and fire engine have inspired the children to take on the role of fire fighters, and it is wonderful to hear all the safety language being used by the children in their play.

From Monday, the children will be in four Read Write Inc. groups, to best match your child’s progress. We will give you more information as to how you can support your child further, during the Zoom Parents’ evening.

We have introduced number 5 today, so see if you can find any number 5’s at home. Please support your child to find all the different ways to make 5 using the fingers on both hands.

Don’t forget to book your ‘Zoom’ slot for a parent teacher meeting by Sunday 8th November, using the Spider App. Any problems, please email your class teacher or send in a note in your child’s book bag. Thank you.

Have a lovely weekend,

to learn, to succeed, to value one another

Our vision and values are at the core of everything we do. A value is a belief or principle that guides our thinking and behaviour. Our values underpin our teaching and learning, and provide an environment which prepares our pupils to be happy and confident and to to take an active role in their community and the wider world.

Each year group has adopted one of our Christian values: Kindness, Forgiveness, Courage, Thankfulness, Hope, Faithfulness and Respect. Our over-arching Christian Value is Love. Throughout the year children are helped to explore, have opportunities to practise and then given time to reflect on what each of our Christian values means to them.
