Home Learning (week beginning Monday 13th July 2020)

Date: 9th Jul 2020 @ 9:46pm

Hello everyone,

Here we are at the last home learning project for this term!
We are starting our second week of ‘Under the Sea’. The books we will be using as a focus this week are; The Rainbow Fish and Sharing a shell. Don’t worry if you don’t have the books at home, all activities can be done without and there are lots of versions available to watch online.

We understand that there are lots of activities listed to keep you busy, we would recommend that each day you access a Read, Write, Inc. YouTube lesson (appropriate to your child), a number session, a reading session and a writing session. Then please dip into any other activities which you think your child will enjoy.

We will continue to set some activities as ‘2Do’s’ on Purple Mash, we love to see your work in your MiniMash tray. You can also add photographs to your child’s Mini Mash tray. We can then see some of the wonderful things you are doing and learning at home. Remember, if you would like your friends to see your creations, you can put them on the display board, and we will choose some new ones each Friday.

Don’t forget to take advantage of ‘Well-being Wednesday’ – an opportunity to be ‘off timetable’ and spend some time doing really beneficial, extra-curricular activities, based on well-being and mindfulness. You will see that this Wednesday is dedicated to transition to Year 1, take some time completing the ‘spreading my wings from Reception to Year 1 activity sheet’. There are lots of supporting documents attached below for you to download.

Mrs. Fegan and Miss Hesketh have recorded their final story time for this term, it will be available later on today. We will send out an email this afternoon when it is ready for you to watch.

Have a well-deserved summer holiday, we can’t wait to see you all very soon. Thank you for your continued love and support during this very difficult time, we are very grateful for all you have done. The most important thing is for you to enjoy your family time, relax and recharge over the summer.

However, we would like to make you aware that many online learning platforms are still available during the holidays. Please take time to read to your child and for them to also read to you. This will ensure the wonderful work you have done over the last 4 months is not lost and will further support your child as they transition into Year 1.

Keep smiling and keep yourselves safe,

Mrs. Fegan and Miss Hesketh 😊
