This first week back after half term we have started our new topic, “Changes.” The overview is on the class page for you to look at. We have also started our maths unit on decimals – converting between decimals and fractions and building our knowledge from Y4 with the introduction of thousandths.

On Tuesday, many of you attended our brass music concert. I’m sure you will agree that the children performed brilliantly, showing great musicianship, musicality and passion. We were so proud of them and I’m sure you are too.

We have also started our rehearsals for the school play – both the acting and the singing. All we can say is WOW. If this is week 1 then you are in for an absolute treat.

to learn, to succeed, to value one another

Our vision and values are at the core of everything we do. A value is a belief or principle that guides our thinking and behaviour. Our values underpin our teaching and learning, and provide an environment which prepares our pupils to be happy and confident and to to take an active role in their community and the wider world.

Each year group has adopted one of our Christian values: Kindness, Forgiveness, Courage, Thankfulness, Hope, Faithfulness and Respect. Our over-arching Christian Value is Love. Throughout the year children are helped to explore, have opportunities to practise and then given time to reflect on what each of our Christian values means to them.
