Rehearsals for the school play are going well and we are all really excited. Most scenes have been set and the singing is sounding fantastic. If anyone has any of the following props at home that we could borrow, please could you bring them in on Monday:

  • plastic swords
  • bow and arrows
  • Roman style helmets

In maths this week we have continued our work on decimals: ordering, adding, subtracting and solving money and distance problems. In English we have continued to write taking inspiration from Anthony Browne's book "Gorilla." We have created some excellent sentences with high level vocabulary and emotive imagery. In science we have recapped learning from Y4 on solids, liquids and gasses and expanded our knowledge through an experiment to show evaporation and condensation. This experiment also helped us recap on the water cycle. We felt really relaxed and sleepy after our first yoga session in PE. One of the homework choices is for us to teach you some poses too.

Our worship warriors shared their first Picture News worship with us on Wednesday. They did so well - even better than Mrs Harper and Mr Williams!

to learn, to succeed, to value one another

Our vision and values are at the core of everything we do. A value is a belief or principle that guides our thinking and behaviour. Our values underpin our teaching and learning, and provide an environment which prepares our pupils to be happy and confident and to to take an active role in their community and the wider world.

Each year group has adopted one of our Christian values: Kindness, Forgiveness, Courage, Thankfulness, Hope, Faithfulness and Respect. Our over-arching Christian Value is Love. Throughout the year children are helped to explore, have opportunities to practise and then given time to reflect on what each of our Christian values means to them.
