Year 6 Weekly Blog 23.1.26
Date: 23rd Jan 2026 @ 3:01pm
Learning opportunities have continued to come thick and fast in Year 6 this week. We have looked at the novel Tyger, thinking about the themes and ideas, and began to write an continuation right after Adam (the main character) is threatened in a dark alley and something comes to his rescue...
We have continued to look at the relationship between fractions, decimals and percentages, changing between them and using this to order them. We have also started to look at how we figure out the percentage of a number using equivalent fractions to help us.
In science we have looked at inheritance and how our characteristics can be gained directly from our parents or influenced by the environment around us. We have continued to develop our dance in PE by introducing a chariot theme to come at the end of our first section. We have also continued to look at how different religions deal with racism, focussing in on Christianity.
