Year 6 Weekly Blog 13.3.26

Date: 13th Mar 2026 @ 2:05pm

We have continued our novel of Freedom this week, where Nat's bid for freedom has taken a horrible twist, resulting with him being returned to his masters and locked in a room. We have been brainstorming how he might escape from this situation in preparation for our writing next week. In maths we have continued to look at angles withn shapes and properties of triangles and quadrilaterals. The children have worked well when faced with many problems, showing great determination throughout.

Science week has enticed us all, with the children enjoying a range of sessions from various professionals. From data analysts to aeroplane engineers, from learning about how the heart works to how we can measure and track our heart-rate, there was something for everyone.

The end of the week saw us travel to Southport to take part in SASWT's Mission Impossible. The children enjoyed being secret agents for the day while learning more about the Easter stoy, linking in with our learning on who Jesus really was.

to learn, to succeed, to value one another

Our vision and values are at the core of everything we do. A value is a belief or principle that guides our thinking and behaviour. Our values underpin our teaching and learning, and provide an environment which prepares our pupils to be happy and confident and to to take an active role in their community and the wider world.

Each year group has adopted one of our Christian values: Kindness, Forgiveness, Courage, Thankfulness, Hope, Faithfulness and Respect. Our over-arching Christian Value is Love. Throughout the year children are helped to explore, have opportunities to practise and then given time to reflect on what each of our Christian values means to them.
