Year 6 blog - last one before SATS week 2025

Date: 9th May 2025 @ 3:11pm

To all parents and carers,

Thank you for all of your support so far this year. We have finished our last week of revision for the Key Stage 2 assessments and the children have done us proud. We have set no formal home-learning for the weekend as we want the children to relax, and they have access to online resources such as Doodle for maths and English, if revision over the weekend will support their confidence.

We have had a productive week and enjoyed lots of broader curriculum learning, including some computing, some orienteering and lots around the 80th VE Day celebrations.

Please ensure that your child is well-rested in preparation for Monday morning. We will aim to start the tests as early as possible, to get them finished a.s.a.p too. Next Friday, we are going to reward the children's efforts by visiting Duke Street Park.

Have a great weekend and thanks again from the entire Year 6 team.

to learn, to succeed, to value one another

Our vision and values are at the core of everything we do. A value is a belief or principle that guides our thinking and behaviour. Our values underpin our teaching and learning, and provide an environment which prepares our pupils to be happy and confident and to to take an active role in their community and the wider world.

Each year group has adopted one of our Christian values: Kindness, Forgiveness, Courage, Thankfulness, Hope, Faithfulness and Respect. Our over-arching Christian Value is Love. Throughout the year children are helped to explore, have opportunities to practise and then given time to reflect on what each of our Christian values means to them.
