Year 6 Blog 7.11.25

Date: 7th Nov 2025 @ 1:49pm

The children have come back this half-term ready and eager to continue their learning. We have started to look at our new topic- Ancient Greece- with the children sharing their previous knowledge of the subject, as well as enjoying exploring the various retellings of Perceus and Medusa.

In maths, we have continued to look at fractions, focussing in on multiplying and dividing and working together to solve probems involving various operations. We have also started to look various components in an electrical circuit, in preparation for building our own circuit to produce a steady-hand game.

Preparation for our annual Rememberance service have begun and the children are showing upmost respect when reading lines, prayers and poetry. We look forward to seeing many of you next week when the children present this next Tuesday at 9:15 in the school hall (entry from the side enterance next to the Staff car-park).

Finally, a few of our pupils have had the responsibility of showing prospective parents around school, as well as selling poppy related products to the rest of the school; they have all taken this responsibility eriously and have had many commendations from various adults. Well done.

to learn, to succeed, to value one another

Our vision and values are at the core of everything we do. A value is a belief or principle that guides our thinking and behaviour. Our values underpin our teaching and learning, and provide an environment which prepares our pupils to be happy and confident and to to take an active role in their community and the wider world.

Each year group has adopted one of our Christian values: Kindness, Forgiveness, Courage, Thankfulness, Hope, Faithfulness and Respect. Our over-arching Christian Value is Love. Throughout the year children are helped to explore, have opportunities to practise and then given time to reflect on what each of our Christian values means to them.
