Year 6 Blog 5.12.25

Date: 5th Dec 2025 @ 3:22pm

Another great week in Year 6 has come to a close. It started with an amazing trip to the World Museum in Liverpool (see pictures attached), where the children learned more about the creatures that dwelt in the myths of Ancient Greece and used inference skills to create their own creatures to survive in various terrains. The children have used that knowledge to create their own mythical creature which they will use in their own Myth to battle the hero they created last week.

We have continued to study ratio in maths this week, with the children creating scale drawings in their books, as well as solving problems with ingredients in recipes - definitely useful when making mince pies and Christmas cakes!

To finish off the week, we were invited by our Year 2 buddies to see the premier performance of their Nativity show. We were so proud of their acting, sining and dancing and it was an enjoyable experience for all!

to learn, to succeed, to value one another

Our vision and values are at the core of everything we do. A value is a belief or principle that guides our thinking and behaviour. Our values underpin our teaching and learning, and provide an environment which prepares our pupils to be happy and confident and to to take an active role in their community and the wider world.

Each year group has adopted one of our Christian values: Kindness, Forgiveness, Courage, Thankfulness, Hope, Faithfulness and Respect. Our over-arching Christian Value is Love. Throughout the year children are helped to explore, have opportunities to practise and then given time to reflect on what each of our Christian values means to them.
