Year 6 Blog 4.7.25

Date: 4th Jul 2025 @ 3:07pm

After the excitment of Dearne Valley and high school, the children have come back motivated for their final push in Year 6. They have not slowed down and have worked well together to probem solve and organise a music festival in small groups (hyperthetically of course). We have also started more intense preparations for the Leavers' Show, focussing in on the songs and dance we will perform as a year group, as well as the children honing their talents in their individual groups; you are in for a treat when you see it!

The children have continued to work on their moving toys in DT, cutting wood and dowling to correct sizes, experimenting with cams and creating them ready for our final completion next week. 6G took a trip to churh to experience the Eucharist service with Rev. Matt talking through the importance of it; the children litened and interacted with the service well.

8 of our Year 6 students were lucky enough to go to a Maths Team Challenge set up by the University of Liverpool Maths School. Two teams went up against some of the finest young minds from all over Merseyside in a number of maths puzzles and races. A lot of fun was had by all and the 6G team even managed to finish 3rd overall! Well done to all those who took part!

to learn, to succeed, to value one another

Our vision and values are at the core of everything we do. A value is a belief or principle that guides our thinking and behaviour. Our values underpin our teaching and learning, and provide an environment which prepares our pupils to be happy and confident and to to take an active role in their community and the wider world.

Each year group has adopted one of our Christian values: Kindness, Forgiveness, Courage, Thankfulness, Hope, Faithfulness and Respect. Our over-arching Christian Value is Love. Throughout the year children are helped to explore, have opportunities to practise and then given time to reflect on what each of our Christian values means to them.
