Year 6 Blog 28.3.25

Date: 28th Mar 2025 @ 2:45pm

Another exciting week in Year 6 has come to an end. The children have been fine-tuning their narrative from the perspective of an enslaved person and have built some excellent word banks ready to craft some poetry next week. In maths we have been looking at the relationship between positive and negative numbers, as well as fine tuning our problem solving skills, which we will continue to do in the weeks to come.

The children have continue to look at slavery this week, this time with a more modern-day look of human trafficking and the dangers of it. They have also finished their stencils ready to create their activitst art piece next week. The children have also increased their knowledge and techniques in both handball, looking at working at a disadvantage, and yoga, looking at poise and balance.

We look forward to a great final week, where we can focus on Easter and all the celebrations around it.

to learn, to succeed, to value one another

Our vision and values are at the core of everything we do. A value is a belief or principle that guides our thinking and behaviour. Our values underpin our teaching and learning, and provide an environment which prepares our pupils to be happy and confident and to to take an active role in their community and the wider world.

Each year group has adopted one of our Christian values: Kindness, Forgiveness, Courage, Thankfulness, Hope, Faithfulness and Respect. Our over-arching Christian Value is Love. Throughout the year children are helped to explore, have opportunities to practise and then given time to reflect on what each of our Christian values means to them.
