Year 6 Blog 28.11.25

Date: 28th Nov 2025 @ 9:57am

Assessment week has come to an end in Year 6; the children have shown a mature attitude and have give a great effort in order to show their potential. We have managed to start to critique our newspapers from last week and make a final edit of them before writing them up neatly. We have also started to look into our next piece of writing by looking at Greek Gods and Heroes to draw inspiration for our own Greek Myth.

In Maths we have started to look at the multiplicative relationship of Ratio, sorting groups of objects together and describing their relationships. We will continue to study this next week, linking this to fractions, scaling and solving problems with them.

In science we have come up with some enquiry questions about simple circuits and what will happen when we change them - we will complete these experiments next week! We have also looked at some secondary sources from the Ancient Greek period and looked at some artifacts and building which have modern day equivalents.

Don't forget about our trip to the World Museum in Liverpool next Tuesday 2nd December. Children will need a packed lunch and to wear school uniform on that day.

to learn, to succeed, to value one another

Our vision and values are at the core of everything we do. A value is a belief or principle that guides our thinking and behaviour. Our values underpin our teaching and learning, and provide an environment which prepares our pupils to be happy and confident and to to take an active role in their community and the wider world.

Each year group has adopted one of our Christian values: Kindness, Forgiveness, Courage, Thankfulness, Hope, Faithfulness and Respect. Our over-arching Christian Value is Love. Throughout the year children are helped to explore, have opportunities to practise and then given time to reflect on what each of our Christian values means to them.
