Year 6 have come back to school ready and refreshed for thier final push towards SATs. English and Maths have been revision sessions, with a grammar focus on sentence structure (using different clauses and active and passive sentences) and maths looking at operations with fractions. We would encourage the children to consolidate these practises at home on the various resources they have.
We started to look at our new geography topic, New York, by locating and studying the 5 boroughs of the city, with the children creating accurate maps of them. We have started to study light in science, with the children creating models of how we see things using light rays. In Re we have started looking at the Eucharist and its importance to Christians and in PE we have started our orienteering focus, being Outdoor and Adventurous.
The children had a very special visit from Formby PCSO Alex Pouncey on Thursday, when he came in to deliver a speech to the children on being safe online. Alex went through how to create strong passwords, what information you should have online and how to report cyberbullying.
