A short week but wow how much we’ve packed in!
From maths to latin, from athletics to map work the children worked extremely hard throughout.
In English, they have continued with their plastic pollution persuasive writing and the build-up work will be completed by the end of next week when they will plan their own persuasive piece of writing.
In maths, they were introduced to the types of angles there are (acute, obtuse and reflex) and the children even had the chance to estimate the size of a variety of angles.
In Geography, the children used a range of maps of Formby from the early 1800’s to the present day to observe how Formby has changed over the last 200 years. From these they could work out how old our school and church are. Some even located their own homes and could see what Formby looked like before their home was built.
We completed the week with a special assembly to celebrate the much-loved presenter, David Attenborough’s 100th birthday.
It has also been Miss Humphreys last day at St Luke’s and the children were very sad to see her leave us. We wish her the very best as she begins her teaching journey.
Next week, we will be taking a stroll around the local area to spot a variety of different aged houses. The children will match houses to the date they were built and will also use their orienteering skills to orientate their maps whilst following a route. May the sun shine!
Have a great weekend and keep safe. J
