Year 5 Blog 13/2/26

Date: 12th Feb 2026 @ 2:49pm

We've had a fantastic final week of this half term, with highlights such as celebrating Safer Internet Day, buddy time with Y1 and - of course - the incredible brass concert!

Year 5 have now finished their Spring term assessments and we are so proud of their attitude and hard work.

In English, the children have completed their adapted narrative of The Nowhere Emporium.

In Maths, we completed our Multiplication and Division unit and we are all excited to start Fractions again after the half term break!

5W have completed their final swimming session - they have all made super progress! 5R will be starting after half term. We are also excited to start rehearsals for our production, 'Star Warts'. Don't forget to practise your lines!

Have a lovely half term and we look forward to seeing you on the 23rd February!

The Year 5 Team.

to learn, to succeed, to value one another

Our vision and values are at the core of everything we do. A value is a belief or principle that guides our thinking and behaviour. Our values underpin our teaching and learning, and provide an environment which prepares our pupils to be happy and confident and to to take an active role in their community and the wider world.

Each year group has adopted one of our Christian values: Kindness, Forgiveness, Courage, Thankfulness, Hope, Faithfulness and Respect. Our over-arching Christian Value is Love. Throughout the year children are helped to explore, have opportunities to practise and then given time to reflect on what each of our Christian values means to them.
