Year 5 - 15/5
Date: 15th May 2026 @ 3:35pm
In what seems like the first full week in a while, the children have had a busy time!
Our Plastic Pollution build up work draws to a conclusion. This week we have focussed on metaphors, emotion, aims and noun phrases. The children will be planning, writing and editing next week.
Mathematics sees angles front and centre with using a protractor, measuring angles around a point and angles on a straight line as the foci for the week.
In Geography/History, we took the chance to walk around our local area observing a series of houses and investigating clues to suggest the period that they were built. Thank goodness the weather held out and only the slightest of showers interupted our walk. Particular favourites were the 1877 Victorian Houses and the mediterranean-esque villa.
The York scrapbooks are beginning to come to life with a great array of creativity on display.
Computing next week will involve a range of filming techniques which they have created a story board to structure. Please could the children bring any small items they plan to use as props for Monday.
We hope you have a brilliant weekend!
The Year 5 team.
