Year 4 blog 27.2.26

Date: 27th Feb 2026 @ 11:25am

Year 4 have come back from their half term break, full of enthusiasm and have worked their socks off!!

The children all enjoyed their tasting lesson in English this week, they explored mixing combinations of sweet treats and creating some imaginative sweet creations for their build up lesson, based on Charlie and the Chocolate factory.

The children were eagerly introduced to their brass instruments this week and they enjoyed making many interesting sounds, in order to use the mouth pieces!! Once they have been shown how their instruments work, they will be bringing them home.

In PE, the children have started their handball lessons, and had fun developing their skills.

In history the children have started finding out about the Early Civilisations. They are eager to find more about these time periods.

Well done to our Weekly Superstars: -

4C: Callum and Eva 4M.

We hope you are all rested after your half term break!

The children are certainly excited for their residential to CHET next week (only 3 more sleeps!)

Many thanks again for supporting your child’s learning.

The Year 4 Team.

to learn, to succeed, to value one another

Our vision and values are at the core of everything we do. A value is a belief or principle that guides our thinking and behaviour. Our values underpin our teaching and learning, and provide an environment which prepares our pupils to be happy and confident and to to take an active role in their community and the wider world.

Each year group has adopted one of our Christian values: Kindness, Forgiveness, Courage, Thankfulness, Hope, Faithfulness and Respect. Our over-arching Christian Value is Love. Throughout the year children are helped to explore, have opportunities to practise and then given time to reflect on what each of our Christian values means to them.
