What another busy and exciting week we've had in Year 4!
In English, the children have been planning and writing their own explanation texts all about the digestive system. They have worked hard to organise their ideas, use ambitious scientific vocabulary and explain clearly what happens to our food as it travels through the body. We can't wait to read the finished pieces!
In Maths, we've been exploring angles, triangles and quadrilaterals. The children have been identifying and comparing different types of angles and using their knowledge to describe a range of 2D and 3D shapes.
Our Science lesson was definitely a favourite this week! We became scientists and investigated which drinks are good (or not so good!) for our teeth. We chose four different liquids and used eggshells to represent tooth enamel, observing how each drink affected the shell over time. The children made sensible predictions and enjoyed discussing the results.
On Thursday, we also had lots of fun taking part in our 'When I Grow Up' mufti day. It was wonderful to see so many different careers represented, from doctors and teachers to footballers, police officers, vets and many more! The children loved talking about their future ambitions and what they would like to be when they are older.
Well done, Year 4, for another fantastic week of learning, it’s not long till the summer holidays! We hope you all have a lovely weekend!
