Year 3 Weekly Blog 4.7.25

Wow - what a busy and exciting week we’ve had in Year 3!
We started the week with Sports Day on Monday, and the children were fantastic! Everyone tried their best, had fun, and showed great team spirit. A big thank you to those who came to cheer us on - we were so glad the rain stayed away!
In spelling, we’ve been learning about the suffix -ion, which changes verbs into nouns. We now know that if a root word ends in ‘t’, we just add -ion to make words like ‘invention’ and ‘action’. The children have picked it up really well!
We’re also getting excited about becoming buddies again in September. We’ve been writing special welcome letters for our new Reception starters. We can’t wait to meet them, help them settle in, and show them how caring and supportive Year 3 can be.
And finally, Thursday was a real highlight! We were so proud of Year 3 as they sang beautifully at Liverpool Cathedral. Even among so many schools, we could hear our children loud and clear! It was a special day, and it meant so much to have some of you there in the audience.
Well done, Year 3 - what a wonderful week!
