Hello Easter Holidays!

What a wonderful last week the children have had.

On Monday, we were fortunate enough to watch Y5’s performance, something they have worked incredibly hard on. It was absolutely amazing and the children smashed their performance, Year 3 loved it! It was fabulous for Y3 to see what they could be doing in 2 years and for some to watch their siblings on stage.

Year 3 then went to church on Tuesday morning to watch Year 4’s Easter Service which demonstrated the importance of Easter and why we celebrate it. It’s always lovely to go to Church and celebrate events in the Christian calendar. Well done to those children who received a LEARN certificate too.

It was Year 3’s turn on Thursday to perform - they sang to the whole school beautifully and the children inspired the others to sing ‘My Girl’ with them. Their confidence shone brightly and their voices were beautiful. Well done Year 3!

And, what a wonderful half term it has been! Our topic this term has been Fantastic Forces, and the children have absolutely loved exploring the wonderful world of science.

From building pneumatic toys to investigating why things fall to the ground, we’ve learned so much about how forces work. The children have become mini scientists – asking questions, testing ideas, and discovering how much push and pull powers our world.

We are looking forward to next term’s brand new topic: The Roman Empire! We can’t wait to travel back in time to explore Roman life, their amazing inventions, and what they did for us in Britain.

We also look forward to beginning to learn Latin and starting our swimming lessons (dates for swimming will be confirmed at the start of the Summer term).

Important note about Swimming: It is expected that all children are able to dress and undress themselves in and out of their swimming costume or trunks independently. Some practice runs over the half-term break are essential!

Home Learning

As it is the Easter Holidays, there has been no home learning set. However, please ensure your child is reading and accessing TTRS as much as possible.

Have a lovely Easter everybody - let’s hope the sun shines for us! See you when we return on Monday 13th April.

Year 3 Team

to learn, to succeed, to value one another

Our vision and values are at the core of everything we do. A value is a belief or principle that guides our thinking and behaviour. Our values underpin our teaching and learning, and provide an environment which prepares our pupils to be happy and confident and to to take an active role in their community and the wider world.

Each year group has adopted one of our Christian values: Kindness, Forgiveness, Courage, Thankfulness, Hope, Faithfulness and Respect. Our over-arching Christian Value is Love. Throughout the year children are helped to explore, have opportunities to practise and then given time to reflect on what each of our Christian values means to them.
