A week of sunshine!

As it has been assessment week, we have filled the rest of the days with some gorgeous art. We studied two artists - Alice Kettle and Hannah Rae - who are both textile artists. They use different materials including stitching to create pieces of art. We drew inspiration from these two artists and painted a background on fabric and stitched some marks. Some children created an ocean, some did flowers in a field whilst some did space. They look brilliant - all the children worked super hard on it!

As well as that, the children used mark making to expand a Van Gogh image. They have really impressed us this week with their imagination and creativity. Well done Year 3!

On Thursday, the children had their transition morning where they met their new teacher and went to their new classroom. 3C are going to be in 4M with Miss Murdock and 3R are going to be in 4C with Mrs Cocks. The children enjoyed getting to know their teacher and are looking forward to a new beginning.

Home Learning

The home learning has been set on Doodle this week, named ‘Identify right angles as 90 degrees and recognise turns in relation to right angles’. Please ensure this is completed by Wednesday and your child will receive a stamp.

Next week

On Monday, it is Y3 - Y6’s Sports Day at Range High School. This is just for the morning. If it is sunny, please ensure your child has applied suncream and brings plenty of water!!

On Tuesday, Y3 are going to the Cathedral for The Big Sing! How exciting! You can pick your child up at the Cathedral once it has finished around 2pm. We must see you first and sign them off our register before handing your child to you on the day.

Tickets are available for free using this link - https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/liverpool-cathedral-big-sing-2026-tickets-1988613719166?keep_tld=true

Have a fabulous weekend enjoying the sunshine!

Year 3 Team

to learn, to succeed, to value one another

Our vision and values are at the core of everything we do. A value is a belief or principle that guides our thinking and behaviour. Our values underpin our teaching and learning, and provide an environment which prepares our pupils to be happy and confident and to to take an active role in their community and the wider world.

Each year group has adopted one of our Christian values: Kindness, Forgiveness, Courage, Thankfulness, Hope, Faithfulness and Respect. Our over-arching Christian Value is Love. Throughout the year children are helped to explore, have opportunities to practise and then given time to reflect on what each of our Christian values means to them.
