Preparing for Christmas!

On Monday, the Open the Book Team performed the nativity for us and got 16 of our children involved. We followed the story from when Mary was told she would carry the Son of God to Jesus being born in the stable. It taught us about Christmas being Jesus’ birthday and therefore why we celebrate the special day.

Year 3 went to Church on Wednesday to watch Y1’s fabulous performance. The children who have siblings in Year 1 went to their service and everyone was blown away by them! Well done Year 1!

It was a busy day for Church on Wednesday as it hosted our fantastic Carol Concert too. Approximately 70 of our children performed in the concert, singing lovely Christmas songs and some even having solo’s. As well, some of our children played their instruments alongside the singing and it was absolutely amazing. We are so proud of all the children involved. A HUGE well done! A huge well done and thank you to Mrs Roberts too as, without her, it wouldn’t have been the massive success that it was.

Next week – very exciting and busy!

Santa Dash

We have our whole school Santa Dash on Monday. It is normal uniform this day but with trainers. The children can wear a Christmas accessory too – a Santa Hat would be preferable!! As it is our PE day, we will be in our PE kit.

Takeover Day

Our fabulous Takeover Day is Tuesday 16th December! We have a fun-filled day packed with exciting activities. On this day, the children need their own packed lunch and the children can wear their own clothes (mufti).

Christmas Dinner Day

On Wednesday 17th December, it is Christmas Dinner Day. It is normal uniform this day but the children can wear a Christmas accessory like a Christmas top.

Thursday 18th December

This is our last day in school before the Christmas Holidays. We finish at 2pm and there wraparound (after school club) will not be open.

Home Learning

This week, the homework has been set on Doodle, labelled ‘Solve addition and subtraction missing number problems.’ Please ensure this is completed by Wednesday. This is the last piece of Homework that will be set this term as we break up for Christmas next Thursday!

Have a wonderful weekend everybody full of Christmas cheer,

Year 3 Team

to learn, to succeed, to value one another

Our vision and values are at the core of everything we do. A value is a belief or principle that guides our thinking and behaviour. Our values underpin our teaching and learning, and provide an environment which prepares our pupils to be happy and confident and to to take an active role in their community and the wider world.

Each year group has adopted one of our Christian values: Kindness, Forgiveness, Courage, Thankfulness, Hope, Faithfulness and Respect. Our over-arching Christian Value is Love. Throughout the year children are helped to explore, have opportunities to practise and then given time to reflect on what each of our Christian values means to them.
