What another fantastic week we have had in Year 3! The children have continued to settle brilliantly into their new routines and have worked so hard across all areas of their learning. It has been wonderful to see their enthusiasm, confidence and positive attitudes throughout the week.
In Maths, we have been developing our understanding of numbers to 100. We have been using number lines to 100 and practising our estimating skills by thinking carefully about where different numbers should be placed on a number line. The children have enjoyed discussing their reasoning and explaining how they know where a number belongs.
In English, we have been recapping some important grammar skills, including the use of capital letters, commas and full stops. Year 3 also put their skills to the test by producing a piece of independent descriptive writing inspired by a gloomy forest photograph. We were so impressed with the vocabulary and imagination the children used to bring their descriptions to life!
We have also had lots of fun in PE this week as we enjoyed our very first tag rugby and dodgeball lessons! The children showed great teamwork, enthusiasm and sportsmanship, and we are looking forward to developing these skills further over the coming weeks.
In Art, we have been developing our artistic skills by creating beautiful watercolour autumn leaves. The children experimented with different colours and techniques to create some lovely autumn-inspired artwork. It has been wonderful to see their creativity shine!
