What a lovely week we have had in Year 2!

The children have been working on their new topic - The Great Fire of London. We have made excellent start to our diary writes and the children have all enganged in wonderful disucssions and debates.

In Maths, we have began to look at fractions. We are very proud of the start the children have made to this topic.

Within RE, we have discussed why the bible is important to Christians. The children have created wonderful pieces of work to show their understanding.

Year 2 have loved learning about London in 1666, we explored the past vs the present looking at things like; transport, jobs, houses and cooking. We have also had a look at the fire service past and present and how this has evolved through time.

The children have loved exploring different ways to express movement through dance that showcase features of The Great Fire of London. We have started to create a whole class dance after sharing group Ideas.

Within continous provision, the children have created marbled pieces showing the sky line of London during 1666. We have also made wooden houses using straw and sticks.

Have a lovely weekend!

Year 2

to learn, to succeed, to value one another

Our vision and values are at the core of everything we do. A value is a belief or principle that guides our thinking and behaviour. Our values underpin our teaching and learning, and provide an environment which prepares our pupils to be happy and confident and to to take an active role in their community and the wider world.

Each year group has adopted one of our Christian values: Kindness, Forgiveness, Courage, Thankfulness, Hope, Faithfulness and Respect. Our over-arching Christian Value is Love. Throughout the year children are helped to explore, have opportunities to practise and then given time to reflect on what each of our Christian values means to them.
