Year 2 Blog

Date: 12th Dec 2025 @ 2:42pm

What an exciting week we have had! We are so proud of the children and their fantastic Nativity performances - we hope you enjoyed them and are as proud of the children as we are. We've attached some lovely pictures from the dress rehearsal.

We've been super busy putting our editing skills to the test, looking for spelling mistakes, missing words and missed punctuation when re-reading our Christmas in Australia fact files.

During RE we have been completing a nativity booklet, really digging deep into the meaning of Christmas, and why we celebrate the good news of Jesus' birth.

We have also spent a lot of our week finishing off our sewing. Our Christmas pouches are finally ready to come home and we are so impressed with their stitching skills!

We hope you all have a festive weekend and the children are looking forward to all the fun we have in store for our final week! Don't forget we have the Santa dash Monday so all children need to wear trainers. Tuesday it is takeover day, own festive clothing for the day. Wednesday, Christmas jumper day (with uniform) and we finish on Thursday at 2pm, theres also no wrap around this day.

Thank you,

The Year 2 Team

to learn, to succeed, to value one another

Our vision and values are at the core of everything we do. A value is a belief or principle that guides our thinking and behaviour. Our values underpin our teaching and learning, and provide an environment which prepares our pupils to be happy and confident and to to take an active role in their community and the wider world.

Each year group has adopted one of our Christian values: Kindness, Forgiveness, Courage, Thankfulness, Hope, Faithfulness and Respect. Our over-arching Christian Value is Love. Throughout the year children are helped to explore, have opportunities to practise and then given time to reflect on what each of our Christian values means to them.
