Another amazing week in Year 2!

The children are all prepared to write their diary entries next week as Samuel Pepys, we are looking forward to seeing how these turn out!

We have seen some excellent progress in maths this week and are very proud of the effort all of the children are putting into their work.

During indoor PE, year 2 have been amazing at working in partners to showcase different levels of movement and changing direction when choregraphing sections for our dance focusing on The Great Fire of London. During outdoor PE, the children have been demonstrating some amazing athletics – keep up the good work!

The children have demonstrated an excellent understanding of staying safe with medicine and rules beyond school during our PSHE lessons. We have had some really good discussions about how to keep safe and why rules are so important.

Within RE, Year 2 have shown some lovely work on how we should treat everyone with kindness and respect and how we can do this within school.

Today is Miss Murphy’s last day in 2A, she would like to thank all of Year 2 and the St Luke’s community for the 3 months she has spent with us. We wish her the best of luck as a teacher!

We hope you have a lovely weekend!

Year 2

to learn, to succeed, to value one another

Our vision and values are at the core of everything we do. A value is a belief or principle that guides our thinking and behaviour. Our values underpin our teaching and learning, and provide an environment which prepares our pupils to be happy and confident and to to take an active role in their community and the wider world.

Each year group has adopted one of our Christian values: Kindness, Forgiveness, Courage, Thankfulness, Hope, Faithfulness and Respect. Our over-arching Christian Value is Love. Throughout the year children are helped to explore, have opportunities to practise and then given time to reflect on what each of our Christian values means to them.
