What a week! We are so proud of the children for their spectacular effort in our first three performances of the Nativity this week. On Wednesday they performed the songs in costume to Roots and shoots, on Thursday we performed to our buddies and Reception and today we performed to the whole school. The children did fantastic and all their hard work paid off, bringing some of us to tears! We can’t wait for you to see it next week.

Along side of our Nativity rehearsals and performances the children have completed their second independent write, a fact file about Christmas in Australia. Next week the children will be testing out their editing skills on their own writing, checking for spellings, punctuation and missing words.

In Maths, we have moved on to shape, where the children have been identifying 2D and 3D shapes and their properties. In provision the children have been on a shape hunt round the classroom, seeing what different 2D and 3D shapes they can spot.

We have also been continuing sewing our Christmas pouch, which we are very much looking forward to bringing home. We are nearly finished sewing our pouch together and will be ready to decorate them soon.

In provision the children have been super busy making their own paper plate angels, sorting 3D shapes, sharing their good news in the writing corner, getting speedy with their spellings and testing their geography skills when labelling our world map.

We hope you all have a lovely weekend and we can’t wait to see you all at our performances next week.

The Year 2 Team

to learn, to succeed, to value one another

Our vision and values are at the core of everything we do. A value is a belief or principle that guides our thinking and behaviour. Our values underpin our teaching and learning, and provide an environment which prepares our pupils to be happy and confident and to to take an active role in their community and the wider world.

Each year group has adopted one of our Christian values: Kindness, Forgiveness, Courage, Thankfulness, Hope, Faithfulness and Respect. Our over-arching Christian Value is Love. Throughout the year children are helped to explore, have opportunities to practise and then given time to reflect on what each of our Christian values means to them.
