What an Amazing First Week Back!

What an amazing first week back we have had! It has been wonderful to see the children return so enthusiastically, ready to learn, explore and have lots of fun together.

We have made a fantastic start to our new topic, ‘Homes’, and the children have been busy exploring what homes are, how they are made and the different materials we can use to create them.

There has been lots of hands-on learning and exploring this week. The children have worked together to build dens using our new crates and tarpaulin, carefully thinking about how to make their structures strong and secure. We have also created sand homes, designed houses using LEGO and Magna-Tiles, and even developed our own recipes and creations in the mud kitchen!

Throughout these activities, the children have demonstrated some fantastic resilience and problem-solving skills. They have worked together as teams, shared ideas, reflected on their creations and made improvements when things didn't quite go to plan. It has been lovely to see them persevere, communicate their ideas and support one another.

We have also been incredibly impressed by the children's language and vocabulary. They have used a wide and varied range of vocabulary to describe their ideas, explain their thinking and demonstrate their growing understanding of our new topic.

One of the highlights of the week was creating our mini origami houses. The children showed great concentration and perseverance as they followed the steps, and the finished houses were truly spectacular! 🏠✨

It has been a brilliant first week filled with creativity, collaboration, curiosity and plenty of opportunities to learn through play and exploration.

We are so looking forward to seeing what next week brings!

to learn, to succeed, to value one another

Our vision and values are at the core of everything we do. A value is a belief or principle that guides our thinking and behaviour. Our values underpin our teaching and learning, and provide an environment which prepares our pupils to be happy and confident and to to take an active role in their community and the wider world.

Each year group has adopted one of our Christian values: Kindness, Forgiveness, Courage, Thankfulness, Hope, Faithfulness and Respect. Our over-arching Christian Value is Love. Throughout the year children are helped to explore, have opportunities to practise and then given time to reflect on what each of our Christian values means to them.
