What a lovely week we have had back in Year 2!

The children have been super excited to begin learning about our new topic - The Great Fire of London! We have brieftly discussed the days leading up to the event and the days the fire burnt through London. The children have began a modelled diary write from the 16th century in the view point of a rat.

In Maths we spent this week concluding time, time is a really tricky aspect of learning for the children. Any practical practice they could have at home would be very much appreciated. We shall be moving on to learn fractions next week.

During Geography we have been looking at the United Kingdom, the four countries and major cities. The children have been labelling these on their own maps.

The children really enjoyed sharing their special books during RE. What a lovely selection of books they brought in too! From baby books, to photo albums, to homemade friendship books to family cookbooks - it was a very special afternoon.

We have loved welcoming the children back and look forward to another week!

Have a lovely weekend,

The Year 2 Team

to learn, to succeed, to value one another

Our vision and values are at the core of everything we do. A value is a belief or principle that guides our thinking and behaviour. Our values underpin our teaching and learning, and provide an environment which prepares our pupils to be happy and confident and to to take an active role in their community and the wider world.

Each year group has adopted one of our Christian values: Kindness, Forgiveness, Courage, Thankfulness, Hope, Faithfulness and Respect. Our over-arching Christian Value is Love. Throughout the year children are helped to explore, have opportunities to practise and then given time to reflect on what each of our Christian values means to them.
