Another Brilliant Week in Year 2!
We have had another busy and exciting week in Year 2, and the children have continued to settle brilliantly into their new routines.
We have been busy mathematicians this week! The children began their Doodle Maths baseline activities and have also been exploring 2D shapes through our continuous provision. Linking to our topic of Homes, the children had the opportunity to design and build houses using different 2D shapes, before identifying and describing the properties of the shapes they had chosen.
We have continued developing our beautiful handwriting, focusing carefully on our letter formation. This week we have practised forming the letters a,d and o remembering to take our time and present our work neatly.
Our continuous provision areas have been very busy! The children have enjoyed exploring different activities independently and with their friends, using their creativity, problem-solving skills and previous learning. We have continued linking our provision to our Homes topic wherever possible.
In PE, we have been developing our gymnastics skills. The children have enjoyed getting active while practising movement, control and coordination.
During our class worship, we spent time learning about the story of Creation, giving the children an opportunity to reflect and share their thoughts together.
We are so proud of how well Year 2 have worked this week. They have shown lots of enthusiasm, independence and fantastic listening across the classroom. Well done, Year 2!
We hope everyone has a lovely and restful weekend, ready for another exciting week of learning!
