We have had a wonderful week of learning! We kicked things off by researching facts about our favourite animals to inspire our factual writing for the fact files we’ll be creating later this term. The children enjoyed finding out how their animals move, what they look like, and where they live.

Our exploration theme continued as we dived under the sea to learn about different sea creatures. The children loved making moving-part puppets and creating their own sea animals using dough - lots of creativity and careful modelling on display!

In Maths, we have been continuing to build our knowledge of 3D shapes. We have been absolutely blown away by the children’s understanding and enthusiasm so far.

A huge highlight of our week was our fantastic trip to Knowsley Safari Park on Thursday. Our tour guide, Ben, shared fascinating facts (and some brilliant jokes!) about the animals. He was very impressed by the children’s knowledge of the five animal groups: mammals, reptiles, amphibians, birds, and fish. We were all incredibly proud as each class received a golden ticket for representing St Luke’s so brilliantly.

Next week, we look forward to continuing our rehearsals for our upcoming Christmas Church service and more animal fact finding!

Have a wonderful weekend, Everyone!

to learn, to succeed, to value one another

Our vision and values are at the core of everything we do. A value is a belief or principle that guides our thinking and behaviour. Our values underpin our teaching and learning, and provide an environment which prepares our pupils to be happy and confident and to to take an active role in their community and the wider world.

Each year group has adopted one of our Christian values: Kindness, Forgiveness, Courage, Thankfulness, Hope, Faithfulness and Respect. Our over-arching Christian Value is Love. Throughout the year children are helped to explore, have opportunities to practise and then given time to reflect on what each of our Christian values means to them.
