Another busy week in Year One!
In science work, the children investigated animal diets and learnt about ‘carnivores, omnivores and herbivores’ – sorting and classifying a variety of animals into these three categories.
In English this week, we have continued our learning based on our fiction story, The Storm Whale. The children have been using prepositions in their writing!
We have been practicing for Sports Day this week, including the famous relay race and obstacle course! Just a reminder that the KS1 Sports Day is on Wednesday 2nd July. Both children and staff are very much looking forward to this day…we are hopeful for sunshine!
Today the children had their first visit to Y2 as part of their ‘transition’ experience. The children had a very good experience meeting the new staff in their year group and exploring the classroom environment.
