We’ve had a busy and exciting week in Year 1!
In Maths, we have been learning about more than, less than and equal to. The children have been comparing numbers in groups, counting groups of dotty dice patterns, and ordering groups of objects from the largest group to the smallest.
In Art, we took inspiration from the autumn leaves. The children each collected a leaf and used it to make their own leaf friend, adding eyes and features with pens – they looked fantastic!
In PE, we have been exploring gymnastics in the hall. We also built on last week’s skipping skills and turned our movements into gallops – lots of energy and fun!
In RE, we began exploring the religion Christianity. The children looked at items such as a children’s Bible, a cross, a church, a picture of a priest, a font and an altar, discussing what these objects represent and why they are special to Christian people.
It’s been a wonderful week of learning, moving, and creating and we can't wait for more learning next week. Have a wonderful weekend, everyone.
