Year 1 Blog 22.10.21

Date: 22nd Oct 2021 @ 4:31pm

Friday 22nd October

Here we are at the end of our first half term. We are so proud of the children and how they have settled into Year One. Thank you so much for all your support.

This week we spent time thinking about our sensational senses. We enjoyed a super smelling quiz, guessing what each pot contained and describing its smell. We also ate fantastic fruit, during snack time, and thought about how they tasted and described their texture too. Sensory stepping stones were also part of the fun, when we used our feet to help us describe the different surfaces we walked on.

We took time to think about our bodies, once again, and how we can keep them clean and healthy. The children thoroughly enjoyed the quiz we completed about it.

Next half term is called Claws, Paws and Whiskers and we will be finding out even more about a variety of animals and their structures. We can’t wait for our trip to Knowsley Safari Park!

Our P.E. days will remain the same, next half term, so we look forward to welcoming the children back in their kits.

If there are any queries, please contact our dedicated email.                                                                        [email protected]

We wish you a relaxing and fun filled week.

The Year One Team

to learn, to succeed, to value one another

Our vision and values are at the core of everything we do. A value is a belief or principle that guides our thinking and behaviour. Our values underpin our teaching and learning, and provide an environment which prepares our pupils to be happy and confident and to to take an active role in their community and the wider world.

Each year group has adopted one of our Christian values: Kindness, Forgiveness, Courage, Thankfulness, Hope, Faithfulness and Respect. Our over-arching Christian Value is Love. Throughout the year children are helped to explore, have opportunities to practise and then given time to reflect on what each of our Christian values means to them.
