Year 1 Blog 16.05.25

Date: 16th May 2025 @ 2:40pm

Another busy and warm week in Year 1!

What a difference a week makes! We observed our plants, once again, noticing their stems lengthening and more leaves appearing. Fantastic!

We are coming to the end of the unit on word problems in maths. Next week we will begin to learn about equal groups.

In art, the children enjoyed their first lesson on watercolours. They had the opportunity to be as creative as they wish! Please take a look at some of the photos.

In gymnastics, we continued developing our push, pull and slide skills when using the apparatus. Next week, we will incorporate the turns we have been mastering to our unique sequences.

In the week ahead, we look forward to continuing our bean diaries in Science. So much to look forward to.

Have a wonderful weekend and thank you for your support.

The Year One Team

to learn, to succeed, to value one another

Our vision and values are at the core of everything we do. A value is a belief or principle that guides our thinking and behaviour. Our values underpin our teaching and learning, and provide an environment which prepares our pupils to be happy and confident and to to take an active role in their community and the wider world.

Each year group has adopted one of our Christian values: Kindness, Forgiveness, Courage, Thankfulness, Hope, Faithfulness and Respect. Our over-arching Christian Value is Love. Throughout the year children are helped to explore, have opportunities to practise and then given time to reflect on what each of our Christian values means to them.
